Outdoor Education Basic & Advanced - Fee $15
In the Outdoor Basic portion participants learn safety management in the outdoors, the use of our camps and other campground facilities. Upon completion, participants will be able to plan and carry out troop camping at camping facilities with indoor camping accommodations as well as tent camping. Participants will learn how to build a fire, cook out of doors and tie useful knots. In the Outdoor Advanced portion, participants will learn how to camp outdoors using tents, use camping tools, do advanced cooking and learn exciting skills to enhance their troop's outdoor camping experience. Participants should bring a chair, paper and pencil, non-aerosol mosquito repellent, pocket knife (if you have one), mess kit (plate, cup, utensils, drinks and snacks). All participants will receive a pre-assignment packet prior to Outdoor Education Basics & Advanced. If you haven't received it two (2) days prior to training, please call Karen. All participants will receive the Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting book at the training.
