Girl Scouts of Louisiana - Pines to the Gulf

Events
Leave No Trace Training

Girl Scouts of Louisiana Pines to the Gulf will host the Leave No Trace traveling trainers on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Camp Bon Temps in Breaux Bridge. There will be a 3 hour hands on educational workshop from 5-8pm. It will be open to any of our volunteers or girls who are 12 and older. If you are interested in attending please reply to kguillory@gslpg.org with the names of attendees and contact information by Monday, March 31. I know this is short notice and may not the best of days but this is what they called and offered us and we want to make the best of it. This is a great opportunity for us to continue to build our relationship with them. If you are traveling in to attend and need a place to stay we can make arrangements for you to spend the night at camp but we must know ahead of time.

The presentation will include the PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) program that is designed to educate children about the outdoors and the responsible use of our shared public lands. It is based on the seven principles of Leave No Trace. Our goal is for you to take this back and implement it in your troop, service unit, or local summer camp. There is no charge for this training and our adult volunteers will be entered in a drawing. The winners will leave with an activity package from the PEAK program.
