Due to the HUGH response of the first session, Fort Jesup has agreed to do a second session.
Guests are invited to Fort Jesup to enjoy a lady’s afternoon tea. There they
will learn the etiquette of the day, early tea games, the difference between "high”
and "low” tea and how one’s ability to set a tea table affected one’s
social standing. Join us in the parlor to sip a little bit of history. The tea
demonstration is at 2 p.m. and is open to the public.
Following the tea will be a campout exclusively for Girl Scouts.
Afternoon/night activities will include open hearth cooking demonstrations
(their dinner will actually be cooked) along with other period activities such
as candle making and/or soap making. Of course there will be singing, stories,
and s’mores around the campfire. This event will be limited to 25 people. This
is bring your own tent camping. Please register using the Council Event
