The Great American Can Round-Up is in progress.. Start collecting aluminum cans now! Girl Scouts can earn extra money by recycling cans.

2013 Scout Council Challenge (January 15 - April 30, 2013)

The Great American Can Roundup Scout Council Challenge, sponsored by the Can Manufacturers

Institute (CMI), is an annual contest open to all registered Girl Scouts of

all ages ( Daisies, Brownies, Cadets, Seniors, and Ambassadors) andtheir area Councils. Girl Scout Troops compete to recycle the most aluminum beverage cans per capita between Jan.15, and April 30. Councils vie for top recycling awards based on the cumulative total pounds of beverage cans recycled through their scouts' recyclingactivities. Go to to register and find virtually everything needed to create a successful Roundup.

Girl Scouts recycling 35 pounds of beverage cans qualify for the

35 Pound Club Great American Can Roundup patch

125 pounds or more, earn an Al the Can stuffed figure

200 pounds Al the Can t-shirt

300 pounds and baseball cap

400 poundsor more of aluminum cans earns a highly coveted "collector’s edition” of the 100%

recycled, unbreakable aluminum bottle.
